University of Birmingham - panorama
There is a building site in the foreground and when the new engineering building is completed it will dominate this view. In the meantime, we can enjoy this vista. The red building on the left is computer sciences, the grey and white banded building in the centre is chemistry's Howarth Building, between the two is the tall block of biosciences (this used to be the biochemistry building (which was possibly the only building on site with its own live steam supply - presumably for autoclaves). The tall clock tower is the Chamberlain tower that is known colloquially as "Old Joe". On the right are the domes of the Aston Webb building.
