A Grade I listed building (Historic England List Entry Number: 1205810 Link
), Blackpool Tower is almost 520 feet (158m) in height. It was first opened to the public on 14 May 1894.
Although inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Blackpool’s tower differs in that it is not free-standing. Its base is hidden by the building which houses Blackpool Tower Circus.
