York Road Green Lane is undergoing planned maintenance to get rid of many very deep ruts. The lane has been levelled and scarified. It will be reseeded and motor vehicles banned until spring 2022 to give the new grass a chance to grow. The lane is closed to everyone for a fortnight while the work is carried out, but there are only closure notices at road junctions. Joining at a footpath junction, the photographer was unaware of the closure.
