NZ1910 : Straw bales by Scots Dyke track

taken 4 years ago, near to Aldbrough st John, North Yorkshire, England

Straw bales by Scots Dyke track
Straw bales by Scots Dyke track
The public footpath is shown as having a somewhat illogical route, crossing Scots Dyke more than once and then cutting diagonally away from the track, which would involve climbing over these bales. Left to make my own decision by a complete lack of waymarking, like any other sane walker, I chose to remain on the track until it joined Appleby Lane a short distance to the north. At that point there is a public footpath sign where you'd find walking sensible, and not where it is shown on the map.
