A940 Layby North of Dava
The A940 is a link road running for 14 miles between the A96 at the Forres bypass and the A939 at Dava, and thus forms the main route south from Forres as well as an alternative to the A941/A95 from Elgin. In the late 18th century, part of it was maintained by the Army as a military road.
