This section is located next to Grand Junction Road between East Street and the entrance to the Palace Pier. As can be seen the space is shared between pedestrians and the cycle lane to the left and causes all types of friction during buy periods particularly as it is a major pedestrian route to the pier with a crossing out of shot to the left linking East Street and the esplanade itself narrows here. During the height of summer many pedestrians stray into the cycle lane making it difficult and dangerous for both cyclists and the pedestrians themselves.
