taken 7 years ago, near to Hampstead, Camden, England

Spedan Close, Hampstead
Spedan Close, Hampstead
View of Spedan Close, a modernist housing development built in the 1970s. The architects were Gordon Benson and Alan Forsyth from the Borough of Camden Architects Department. Formerly known as the Branch Hill Estate, the houses are now privately owned. An excellent account of the estate may be found at this LinkExternal link. Spedan Close is Grade II listed, and at the time were regarded as "the most expensive council houses in England, to their defenders an act of political faith, to critics socialism gone mad."
