The RSPB have opened up parts of the sea defence banks to allow the surrounding land to revert back to the natural salt marsh for the benefit of wading birds and wildfowl. This lagoon by the bird hide affords views of the local wildlife from the path which has viewing slots cut into the fence to avoid disturbing the birds
