Haar and Hill Tops, Ben Bhraggie, Sutherland
Haar and Hill Tops, Ben Bhraggie, Sutherland
Haar is a type of low lying cloud, typical on the north eastern coasts of Great Britain, and generated by cold sea water temperatures in otherwise warmer air. In this photograph from Ben Bhraggie (396 m, 1299 ft) in the north of Scotland, hill tops can be seen sticking through the Haar. On the distant horizon are snow capped mountains of the Scottish Highlands.
