Imber: an incongruous London scene
Imber: an incongruous London scene
The roads on the firing ranges of Salisbury Plain are open only a few days a year, and often this coincides with the August bank holiday weekend. On this day, the route is served by many London buses, both traditional Routemasters and modern vehicles, with regular services running between Warminster Station and Market Lavington.

Here, we see one of the Routemasters as it stands at the bus stop by the path to the church - it is a nice touch that proper London bus stop signs have been erected on each side of the road, as well as authentic-looking timetables on the posts.
