Market Street was closed for the Hyde 7 mile road race. This was stage 4 of the Tour of Tameside. Link

Starting outside Hyde Town Hall this 7 mile road race went straight up Market Street before turning left onto Mottram Old Road and past the Ken Ward Leisure Centre in Hattersley and left onto Mottram Road; then Grange Road North near Hyde United and past Hyde Leisure Pool and up Lumn Road before turning back onto Market Street and down to the finish outside Hyde Town Hall.

542 runners finished the race. Gareth Raven of Sale Harriers won the male race followed by Mussie Kassa of East Cheshire Harriers. The female race was won by Vicky Wright of Hyde Village Striders followed by Kirsty Longley of Liverpool Pembroke Sefton. Full race results: Link (Archive Link )
