East Quarry, Barrow Hill, Pensnett
Visitors inspect a dolerite intrusion into Etruria Marl. The dolerite, a volcanic rock, is the grey mass above them. Members of the Black Country Geological Society guided a party from the Warwickshire Geological Conservation Group around quarries at Pensnett and Barr Beacon. BCGS volunteers cleared scrub from this and nearby exposures in October 2012. A detail of the exposure is SO9189 : East Quarry, Barrow Hill, Pensnett – dolerite intrusion into Etruria Marl.
