This CrossCountry train on the route between Birmingham and Peterborough is just about to pass the level crossing at Helpston. The tracks furthest from the camera form part of the East Coast Main Line (ECML). As of July 2014, Network Rail had submitted a proposal to close Helpston Crossing and replace it with a road bridge.
