The new routes would appear to be likely to gain much of their traffic from people who already use buses as there are few completely new journeys which can be accomplished on the extended system. To achieve this rush hour travel misery has been greatly increased; I know of university staff living in the Wollaton Vale area whose journeys to and from work have been increased from 15 mins to 40 minutes.

In addition, the combination of this work, the A453 improvements and the rebuilding of the railway station give large areas of Nottingham a very unattractive appearance.
