Bus Leaving Windermere Station
Bus Leaving Windermere Station
Stagecoach in Cumbria 18326 (MX05 WHU), a Dennis Trident with Alexander ALX400 bodywork, passes a parked Allander coach as it climbs the heavily cambered access road from Windermere Station. The bus, which is operating on the 599 service towards Kendal, is carrying the standard Stagecoach colours.

Windermere is a small town (population 8245 at 2001 census) which lies about half a mile away from Lake Windermere. Although the town Windermere does not touch the lake, it took the name of the lake when the railway line was built in 1847 and the station was called "Windermere".
