After leaving the Ship Canal and entering the Mersey Estuary at Eastham, Ships have to negotiate the Bromborough Sandbanks. The channel is marked by a series of buoys. Ships have to keep the red ones (like this) to the east whilst green buoys mark the western edge of the channel.
