ST9191 : WWII pillbox #1

taken 9 years ago, near to Long Newnton, Gloucestershire, England

WWII pillbox #1
WWII pillbox #1
Almost hidden by the hedge this is a large pillbox. On first impressions this does not appear to be an obvious location for a pillbox, not on a river, canal or near a bridge, however it is near the former WWII Long Newnton Airfield. Stalactites are forming on one of the loopholes ST9191 : Stalactites on a WWII pillbox
