NK1346 : Heavy rain at PeterheadConcerning the statue: "In front of the Town House is Peterhead's centrepiece, a statue of Field Marshal Keith presented to the town by King William I of Prussia in 1868. James Keith was the younger brother of the 10th Earl Marischal, and the two fled to Prussia after backing the Jacobites during the 1715 uprising. James went on to become a Field Marshal in the Prussian army and was killed fighting for the Prussians at the Battle of Hochkirchen on 14 October 1758, just 6 months before the Keiths' confiscated lands were returned to them by the British Parliament".
