Sulby: Causeway between Welford and Sulby Reservoirs (2)
The causeway is about 150 metres long and about 10 metres wide and separates Sulby Reservoir to the left and Welford Reservoir to the right. The water level drops by about 2 metres from left to right, down the spillway in the foreground. The reservoirs were created to provide a head of water for the Grand Union Canal into the Leicester section summit.
The Jurassic Way long distance footpath uses the causeway and the handrail down the centre of the causeway is continuous from end to end.
For a view from the other end please see SP6581 : Sulby: Causeway between Welford and Sulby Reservoirs (1).
