NT8817 : Pennine Way on King's Seat

taken 12 years ago, 4 km SE of Sourhope, Scottish Borders, Scotland

Pennine Way on King's Seat
Pennine Way on King's Seat
The erosion that was here when I was last here on a hot day in 1978 has disappeared. This is due to reduced traffic on the Pennine Way, which was a craze back then, and is now not quite so popular, and the building of a path using old floor slabs from demolished mills. The slabs look like a good idea, but you cannot walk on them in frosty weather, they are very slippery.
