Bugsworth Basin
Bugsworth Basin
Constructed in the 1790s, Bugsworth Basin is the eastern terminus of the Peak Forest Canal, one of the largest such basins on the canal network. It was once a busy interchange with the Peak Forest Tramway for the transport of limestone and the burnt lime produced at lime kilns on the site. The Navigation Inn is on the far side of the basin.
