Sea birds at home in the scree
The scree from the cliffs of Garbh Eilean affords nesting places for many sea birds. Puffins proliferate in burrows made in the scree. It is estimated that approaching half a million are in the Shiants in the summer months. Other sea birds of the Shiants include guillemots, razorbills, skuas, fulmars, kittiwakes and shags.
