Aurora Borealis from Bangor
Aurora Borealis from Bangor
The Aurora Borealis looking over Bangor Bay from the 'Long Hole'. The gate is seen in daylight at J5082 : Air/sea rescue exercise, Bangor. This was closer to the streetlights of the town and the glare greatly diminished the effects of the aurora.
The Aurora Borealis from Bangor, February 27th 2014

There was a spectacular display of the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) on the evening of February 27th 2014. This is a selection of pictures taken from the coast at Bangor, County Down - not an ideal location as there was a great deal of light pollution. All images taken with high ISOs and long exposures to bring out the colours of the lights.
