The Haycock Hotel (1), London Road, Wansford
A historic hotel which was at one time a coaching inn. Originally the Swan Inn, the present building is thought to date from the early 17th century, although it has been suggested that some parts are much earlier. The earliest reference to the Swan Inn appears to be from 1571. Many alterations were made in the 18th & 19th century. It is Grade II listed.
The name changed around 1710 to the Haycock Inn. The use changed to that of a private house in 1887, and then a hunting lodge. In 1928 it re-opened as an inn and either then or later the name slightly changed to the Haycock Hotel. Today it is a Macdonald Associate hotel and can host meetings, and various functions.
