SP1262 : Site of a pond north of Shelfield Square Farm
taken 12 years ago, near to Morton Bagot, Warwickshire, England
Site of a pond north of Shelfield Square Farm
Whereas many ponds were for stock in this countryside of permanent pasture, and are left to dry out after conversion to arable, this looks more like a pit for brick clay or marl. The trees have probably been killed by deep ploughing through their roots.
