SO8602 : Former Brimscombe Port - salt warehouse

taken 13 years ago, near to Brimscombe, Gloucestershire, England

Former Brimscombe Port - salt warehouse
Former Brimscombe Port - salt warehouse
The large port at Brimscombe on the Stroudwater (Thames & Severn) Canal was demolished and the basin filled in, in the 1960s. The only surviving building is this small salt warehouse that was on the western side of the basin.

However, work is afoot to restore the canal and stage 1A, which is well underway, includes reinstating the basin.
