taken 13 years ago, near to Balloch, West Dunbartonshire, Scotland

South entrance of Balloch Castle Country Park
South entrance of Balloch Castle Country Park
The building beside the entrance is now a private house, but it was formerly the south lodge associated with NS3983 : Balloch Castle (itself just an ornate house); the lodge was rebuilt in the 1920s. See also NS3982 : South entrance of Balloch Castle Country Park. Compare the corresponding NS3983 : North Lodge, Balloch Castle Country Park.

The road that is visible in the foreground changes its name at this point, and is called Balloch Road to the left, and Drymen Road to the right.
