Buses in the former Bus Station, Aldershot
Taken in March 1972, this photo shows two Dennis Loline double-deck buses both with Weymann 68-seater bodywork and three single-deck buses, all operated by Alder Valley. This bus operator was formed on the 1st January 1972 by the merger of Aldershot & District and Thames Valley Traction. The Dennis Loline bus on the left and the single-deck buses are in the A & D livery of two-tone green with a cream band, whilst the other Dennis Loline is in the short-lived maroon and cream livery. Housing now occupies this bus station site whilst the current bus station is in Station Road nearer the railway station, its postcode being GU11 1HN. The South Western behind the bus station is now The Funky End cafe and bar. Stagecoach South East now operates the bus services in the Aldershot area.
