Piethorne Water Treatment Works
Piethorne Water Treatment Works
The Piethorne water treatment plant, below the Piethorne dam and above Kitcliffe Reservoir, where the "raw" water is purified. There are two main stages involved. Firstly any coloration (colour) is removed by sedimentation and secondly, filtration removes any remaining suspended solids. Eight million gallons of water are treated here every day.
