The above photograph shows a view of a Classical Portico, located along part of the A51, The Friary. The Classical Portico was erected in 1937, at the entrance to the ruins of the Franciscan Friary that was once located there. The Franciscan Friary was founded in 1230, but was destroyed on the orders of King Henry VIII, in 1358.
