There are only seven houses here, and they are all located at the southern end of Upper Carman Road (for reasons that are explained below).
NS3878 : Carman Road is located on the other side of the A82 (a dual carriageway), and Upper Carman Road is easy to reach from there on foot, by using a
NS3878 : Footbridge over the A82. In fact, this part of Upper Carman Road was formerly just the continuation of Carman Road, and was known by the latter name; later, the construction of the dual carriageway caused the road to be divided into two separate sections.
In order to restore road access to the houses located here (some of whose entrances are shown in the present photograph), Upper Carman Road was extended to the north for a distance of about 500 metres, to meet Cardross Road; that more recent section is shown in
