The dedication of the church > Link is to St Peter and to St Mary but the church guide book calls it St Peter's church. The church is situated on an elevation overlooking Brome Beck. As we see it today, the church dates mainly from the 14th and 15th centuries. It was restored in the 1800s when most of the furnishings and the altar and reredos were installed, and the chancel roof > Link and the chancel walls > Link as well as the wall on the west side of the chancel arch > Link were painted and decorated with angels. The east window is by Messrs Hardmann of Birmingham and was installed in 1867. The church contains many monuments > Link. The baptismal font is C14 > Link.
