SD9788 : Flying Fox at Thornton Rust

taken 16 years ago, near to Thornton Rust, North Yorkshire, England

Flying Fox at Thornton Rust
Flying Fox at Thornton Rust
I don't think this fox is a flying fox, it's just that it can jump over roof tops! No seriously this fox isn't real I discovered! Looking west down the street of the linear village of Thornton Rust in Wensleydale this ornamental fox is secured to the top of the old Anglican Mission. The mission was set up here in the 19th century to counter the strong non-conformity that these isolated hamlets and villages adhered to.
