Jealous of their privacy, or not wanting to be distracted when playing golf on their private golf course, the owners have grown high hedges along the road. This view was only possible by standing on the car roof.

Although the land is fairly level round here, the railway engineers of yesteryear chose to even out the merest dip here with an embankment, much of which survives.

A railway once passed right here
but entry now to Hindolveston Wood is definitely discouraged: pity - the woods looked inviting. The old line ran across at right angles to this track just past the site of this gate.
