A combine harvester and attendant tractor and trailer gather the last of the cereal crop. I don't know exactly what grain they are harvesting but I suspect it is wheat.

The water was being pumped out of this drain at the time making it about a foot lower than normal and ideal for the heron to feed.

The bank of Bourne Eau forms the horizon

These Swans have taken to roosting in this field, with a certain amount of greenery to graze upon. The bank at the bottom of the field is the raised embankment of the river called Bourne Eau, so they can retreat to water when required.

This crossed Long Drove Drain which has been infilled.

Several half-buried brick bridges suggest that there used to be a ditch ('drain') on this side of the road
