Walking west along the River Humber
Taken from the east of Stony Creek. All the maps say Stone Creek but I have yet to hear anybody to use that name.

Blackcurrant Bush
A very unusual place to find a blackcurrant bush... on the Humber River Embankment in the middle of nowhere! Could this have been as the result a walker discarding a currant at this point?

The River Humber, Sunk Island
Near the southeast corner of the woods surrounding what remains of Sunk Island Battery. Much of the land on Sunk Island is Crown Estate property and I suspect the sign may have been moved from somewhere nearby and placed on the saltmarsh as a joke.

The Path SE from Stone Creek

Humber shoreline at Sunk Island
Grimsby's Hydraulic Dock Tower is four and a half miles away across the Humber estuary.

A pillbox hidden by the trees
Viewed from the flood bank of the River Humber.

Footpath on the Humber Bank
The path along the Humber Bank is easy to walk but this short section has become a little overgrown.

Pathside Copse and River Humber edge
Taken on a 'courtesy footpath' (not a public footpath) at the side of the River Humber SE of Stone Creek. The river side is littered with discarded rubbish (mostly plastic articles) discarded from passing ships, but also the... (more)

A Humber Embankment Copse
Taken from about 80 metres up. The copse is relatively young. I've no idea why it has been planted at this point where there's a kink in the Humber river front path.
