Cray approaching from the east, (actually south-east at this location), on this stretch of the canal adjacent to the A65.

After passing through the gate SD9552 : A walk from Skipton to Gargrave [31], the track (which is not on the line of the right of way) twice crosses a former meander of the River Aire. This was probably cut off when the railway embankment was constructed.
