SD4376 : High tide between Arnside and Park Points by Karl and Ali High tide between Arnside and Park Points
The shore of the Kent estuary between the points is almost continuous limestone cliffs. Here, the cliffline is breached by a sloping ramp formed by the upper surface of one of the beds, seen here SD4376 : The Ramp from the exposed sands at low tide.

SD4376 : Arnside Park meets the sea by Arnold Price Arnside Park meets the sea
This bluff headland and the shore to the East take the brunt of any Southwesterly gales when the tide is up. At low water the expanse of the sands of the Bay can readily be seen from this and other vantage points along the shore, fossils... (more)
SD4376 : A robin at Park Point (2) by Karl and Ali A robin at Park Point (2)
No sooner had I sat down for a break than this fearless robin appeared and hopped over virtually to within touching distance. It must associate humans with food so I shared some cheese from my sandwich with him/her.
SD4376 : Near Park Point, Arnside by Ian Taylor Near Park Point, Arnside
Between Park Point and Arnside Point. I presume the limestone is stained by iron deposits. Looking across the Kent estuary.
SD4376 : Park Point by Anthony Parkes Park Point
SD4376 : Small sheltered shingle beach at Park Point by David Robinson Small sheltered shingle beach at Park Point
SD4376 : Heading up the Kent estuary by Karl and Ali Heading up the Kent estuary
The tide has just receded from the sands close to the rocks of Park Point as we head up the estuary. It's a filthy day but at least the wind is now behind us.
