This flood bank protects farmland from flooding, however, the river Severn is across the meadows to the right and recently the bank has acted as a dam holding back the floodwaters of the Madresfield Brook. Frieze Wood can be seen in the background.

In or very close to these woods there was indeed a chapel. I found here a fragment of a medieval floor tile identical to one in Great Malvern Priory.
