Meanders in the River Till
The Till meanders sharply in the stretch downstream of its confluence with the River Glen. Its sandy banks are easily eroded by the current.

The stile on the left would look to have led to a bridge over this ditch - but not any more.

Flood Embankment
A flood embankment alongside the River Till near Fenton, with a skein of Pink-footed Geese overhead. At least 2,000 were in the area on my walk along the river from Doddington.

Breached flood bank
A display in the nearby Fenton visitor centre explained that the flood banks in this part of the valley of the Till were deliberately breached c.2004 to expand the flood plain.
