im surprised this camp is still used. was there early 70s with rir cadets from n ireland ,@the time of the year of the liverpool show. is them huge sand dunes still there and it was a long walk to and from railway stations and to the ranges carrying my lee enfield .303 mk4 rifle or a bren gun and 58 pattern webbing but loved the challenge . as a 13 year old would see it. sick bay as i remember it was 1st building on left hand side as you enter main camp and that road from hightown so long and straight seemed like an number of miles can remember 1 thing as my mother was visiting scotland i sent a post card at my granmas to which i wrote please send money a fiver was sent promply to my relief as it was becoming short as i was a school boy at the time . and a papa now i tend to give my kids and grand bairns any thing they need stopping short of spoiling them . on my way home from pooldocks i never felt comfortable on board ship and never shut an eye a bit noisy etc and made my escape on to the deck on which i found peace in the LUXURY of a rope box.
