An approaching narrow boat
Just two of these boats passed us as we walked along the tow path. The people on board were very happy to chat as they passed by.

Cast iron milemarker installed by the CCS [Caldon Canal Society] in 1981. Alongside a shaded milestone carved '16'. Boats can reach Etruria from here, but Uttoxeter remains an aspiration.
