Llanymynech Horse Trials: cross-country course
In 2016 the course was run anti-clockwise, meaning that competitors enter from the left and exit through the small gap to the right of the portaloo - a welcome relief for fence judges and spectators out here at the furthest point of the course!

Floods near Llwyn-y-groes
There has been very heavy rain [obviously!] - it looks like these floods stem from the River Vyrnwy, almost a kilometre away.

Flood prevention under the B4398
Less than a mile from the River Severn this stream could easily be overwhelmed by flood water backing up.
In this eventuality the sluice gates under the road would be deployed.

At Lower House Farm, the winding R.Vyrnwy is here bordered by trees and extensive growth of the invasive Himalayan Balsam. The farm land here is used for the twice-annual Llanymynech Horse Trials.
