Footpath at Ettington
The footpath runs between the edge of the paddock on the left and a new housing development to the right of the hedge. At this time of year the undergrowth is trying to take over!

Leaving the edge of the field the footpath now heads straight across towards Stokeyleys Coppice, seen in the middle of the image.

Soft going on the gallops
These gallops are clearly visible as a feature on the 1:25000 maps, and cut straight across the footpath at the end of the white railings.

Horses at Ettington

These four horses were shading under a tree until I approached along the footpath. They then wandered out hopefully but all I did was photograph them.

The line of the footpath across this recently ploughed field is well marked by the tractor tracks.

Footpath to Stokeyleys Coppice
The footpath is cut through at right angles by some gallops. The thick soft mud in the gallops was so deep that the path was virtually impassable at this point.

This is part of a large new housing estate in Ettington which spills over into this square.

At this point, a footpath from the Foss Way makes a 'T' junction with path from Ettington to Stokeleys Coppice. This is the view looking towards the coppice.

The gateway and the surroundings have recently be rebuilt as part of the new housing development which spills over into this square.
