: Ray Island from the end of the pier, West Mersea by Robin Webster Ray Island from the end of the pier, West Mersea
This is a long island of saltings between Strood Channel (near) and Ray Channel (far). The tip is mostly hidden behind the boats to the right, but the low tide mud bank continuation with mooring posts in Ray Channel is more obvious to the left.
: Mersea Pier head, north end by Robin Webster Mersea Pier head, north end
A rather swish modern replacement for earlier pontoon piers, with colour coded decking. Here, the main walkway is to the left, on the right is a fishermen's trolley area.
: Mooring posts off Mersea Pier by Robin Webster Mooring posts off Mersea Pier
There is a row of posts along the far channel, beyond the mud bank. The boats are only reachable by tender.
