The water in the centre of the picture is Lawling Creek and the spit of land projecting into it is Mundon Stone Point. Taken from the northern end of Mayland Creek whose waters can just be made out in the bottom left of the picture.
A long spit whose spine has a lot of shells in its composition. There is a marked difference in the vegetation between that on the left of the crest and that on the right.
This is the shrub looking like heather in the foreground. In Britain it is largely confined to south-eastern coasts, where it only grows in habitats such as this - the slightly higher parts of shingle spits and the like. This view is of the... (more)
