Nettle-leaved bellflowers give colour to the hedgerow on the right of way that runs through downland.

I just liked the shape of this tree and how its dendritic branches and twigs just reminded me of the trees I used to draw as a child. Someone more skilled than I would create a very simple but effective water colour of that.

Elder is in bloom on the right.

This restricted byway (no motor vehicles) was a joy to walk; the sun was out, the route was dry and even and the gentle views of the awakening countryside were edifying.

A pleasant bridleway, lined with trees. I did not encounter the motorcyclists that had obviously come along here.

The restricted byway climbing towards Nashes Green passes a field of maize stubble.
