Two large pipes peer down into the Shreen Water, presumably a leftover from the former mills that stood on this site. Barnaby Mills is a modern housing development, forming a comparatively similar presence.

The massive wall, apparently partly a retaining wall, is for the grounds of Knapp House and its outbuildings and cottages.

Numbers 1 and 2 St Martin's Square are two attached early 19th century houses. Number 2 is unusual in that its main facade, seen here, faces north with most openings blocked - see also ST8026 : Gillingham houses [12].
