Farway Plain. An hilltop plateau between Honiton and Sidmouth.
An area rich in history. There are several Tumuli burial mounts scattered across the region.
The slight rise in the wooded area is one of the mounds.

Isolated but not exactly secluded pub on the A375 Honiton-Sidmouth road on the plateau of Gittisham Hill. The lane on the right leads west to Ottery St Mary.

The grave of a forgotten warrior
A little bit of licence with the title. A tumulus, burial mound. Now hidden by trees, on what is known as the Faraway Plain. There are several dozen sites in this area.
