Water tower near Daftmill

A distinctive water tower near Daftmill Farm. Just guessing but I suspect it is a left over from POW Camp No.77 at Annsmuir, just out of shot to the right.

Extraction is still taking place in this part of the sand and gravel quarry. Public access is on the other part of the site, which has been converted into a nature reserve.

This tree lined portion of the A91 is somewhat west of Barham; the chief run of trees illustrated is on the south side of the roadway.

A screen of trees, now shedding their leaves, beside the A91. Beyond the trees there is farmland; further west you are in gravel pit country. The light was appalling.
